Enough is enough

Everyone reaches their breaking point and I reached mine
the other day. For the past year I have been working part-time
delivering newspapers. Why? Well, I needed to work a second job
since my wife was out of work and the bills needed to get paid. The
hours for my full-time job were a bit odd and I needed something to
fit around this. Hence, the newspaper delivery gig. It was
certainly no dream job. The hours were early (really early)
starting at 2:30 a.m. and ending at 6:30 a.m. Now those are some
really crazy hours. Yet, if one were as desperate as I was for cash
then one may fall in. Well as I quickly learned some times money is
not always a good reason to do anything. What is more important
than keeping one’s sanity or good health? Will money help to
maintain these? Perhaps, it can help pay for a good psychiatrist or
gym membership. Other than these… No. We need to be responsible
for our own health and sanity because no one else will. Sadly most
people are looking out for themselves. So, in this case I decided
to lookout for Number 1 (me) and quit this awful job. I have no
regrets either. My performance at my day job is better and I just
feel more energized. It was a great decision. It proves that money
does not always buys happiness.
