Today, an alleged victim of former Penn State coach, Jerry Sandusky, took the stand. The victim who was not named described in detail how Sandusky abused him for years and how Penn State officials knew of what was going on but did nothing.

Another scandal involving a big institution (see Roman Catholic Church for the other). It is sad and disgusting to see how certain institutions, sports in particular, are more concerned about covering their own asses (pun not intended) than they are about child safety. What kind of an example is this for an institution of higher education?

Oh yes, there’s the football program. The almighty program needs to be protected at all costs. School adminstrators wanted to be “humane” to Sandusky. Humane? How about being “humane” to the victim who was a child at the time. There comes a time when enough is enough and people like Sandusky need to be exposed for what they are: predators.

Wasn’t California called “The Bear Flag Republic”? So, what would be more appropriate then having the state’s old namesake show up for graduation. Poor guy showed up for the after party too soon it seems πŸ˜‰
